Every 2 years, the 6 official Mercedes-Benz Clubs of Australia meet for a National Rally. Each club takes turns to host the rally and in 2012 South Australia was the host state.
Approximately 210 participants with 100 vehicles took part in the 2012 National Rally, which covered over 500km through South Australia’s great touring roads and sightseeing spots.
After arriving at the InterContinental Hotel on Good Friday, all the cars were displayed Leconfield Winery McLaren Vale on Saturday 7th April from 10-11am. This was followed by a run to Goolwa and then on to Victor harbor, then back to Adelaide via the scenic roads through Cape Jervis and Rapid Bay.
On Sunday 8th April all the cars were displayed on the lawns of The National Motor Museum at Birdwood from 10.30am till 2pm. The vehicles then returned to Adelaide via various routes through the Adelaide Hills and Mount Lofty Ranges.
On Easter Monday all the vehicles travelled to Mt Barker via Windy Point, Belair, Cherry Gardens and Echunga. The Steamranger tourist train was chartered for a train journey to Strathalbyn, returning to Mt Barker later in the Afternoon.

The next National Rally of the Mercedes-Benz Clubs of Australia will be held in Queensland in 2014.
